NEW KENT, Va. (Aug. 29, 2026) — Trainer Mike Trombetta and jockey Ismerio Villalobos each scored an added-money double Saturday in the trio of featured races, teaming up to take the $100,000 Camptown Handicap with Hark Theangelssing. Trombetta also saddled Royal Companion to victory in the $125,000 Dolley Madison Stakes, while Villalobos guided longshot Moneta Agenda to the $125,000 Jamestown Stakes.

Little River Run Racing’s homebred Royal Companion enjoyed a ground-saving stalking trip before tipping out in the stretch and running down longshot Gypsy Lullaby to win the $125,000 Dolley Madison Stakes by 2¾ lengths. Mountain Mamba finished third.

Trained by Mike Trombetta and ridden by Mychel Sanchez, Royal Companion covered 5½ furlongs on the turf in 1:02.98 against a field of six 2-year-old fillies registered Virginia- or Maryland-bred or -sired.

With Keswick Stakes winner Cyber Spy showing the way early, Royal Companion was forwardly placed along the rail just behind the leader entering the turn. She continued to track the pace around the bend, angled out for running room in the upper stretch and engaged the leaders from the outside with a furlong remaining. Royal Companion quickly drew clear and was geared down late to win comfortably.

“She’s sharp—has such a good mind,” Sanchez said. “I just wanted to have her in a good spot, close enough so she could wait and turn it on late. She has really moved forward since moving to the turf.”

Royal Companion returned $4.60 to win, $3.40 to place and $2.60 to show. The Virginia-bred daughter of War of Will remained perfect in two starts on turf and improved her overall record to 3-2-0-0 with earnings of $131,875.

Barak Farm’s homebred Moneta Agenda broke his maiden in dramatic fashion Saturday, rallying from last and surviving a jockey’s objection to win the $125,000 Jamestown Stakes by a neck at long odds against six Virginia- or Maryland-bred or -sired juvenile males.

Trained by Jose Corrales and ridden by Ismerio Villalobos, Moneta Agenda covered 5½ furlongs on the turf in 1:03.61. After beginning his career with three starts on dirt, the gelding moved to the grass and entered the Jamestown off a third-place finish in his turf debut.

“He’s been running on the dirt but not running very well,” Corrales said. “The owners were disappointed. I told them to run him on the grass and he ran a good third. I expected him to run today, but not that good. He won the race. He’s got a future on the grass.”

With odds-on favorite Fission setting the pace, Moneta Agenda settled at the rear of the seven-horse field before launching a wide rally into the stretch. He made contact with the fading Do the Right Thing while advancing, then straightened out and continued his run to narrowly prevail. A jockey’s objection followed, but the result was allowed to stand. Futile Gesture finished second, with Harewood third.

Moneta Agenda returned $39.00 to win, $15.00 to place and $8.20 to show. The homebred improved his career record to 5-1-0-1 with earnings of $83,520.

The Estate of Larry Johnson’s homebred Hark Theangelssing notched her second consecutive victory of the meet Saturday, prevailing by a nose in the $100,000 Camptown Handicap.

Coming off a two-length, front-running victory in the Shenandoah, Hark Theangelssing used different tactics in the Camptown, settling along the rail behind pacesetter Lady Ensign. She tipped outside in the stretch and needed every inch of ground to wear down her determined rival at the wire. Secure’s Hope ran third.

Trained by Mike Trombetta and ridden by Ismerio Villalobos, Hark Theangelssing covered 5½ furlongs on the turf in 1:02 against eight older Virginia-restricted fillies and mares and returned $3.40 to win, $2.60 to place and $2.20 to show. The homebred improved her career record to 8-5-0-0 with lifetime earnings of $332,400.
