  • How much do I get?

    OWNERS
    60% winner, 20% second place,10% third place, 5% fourth place.
    A $1,000 participation incentive will be paid to owners that finish after fourth place.
    There is a $15 start fee which will be deducted from the account.
    Stakes races and Steeplechase races may have different purse splits.

    TRAINERS
    $300 per start.

    JOCKEYS
    Purses up to $24,999: First place 10%; second place 5%; third place $150.00, other $125;
    Purses $25,000 & up: first place 10%, second place 5%, third place 5%, other $125.00 (jockey checks are deducted out of owner’s account).

  • When Are Checks Ready?

    Checks are available beginning Wednesday from 11:30 AM – 2 PM.

  • Do you do direct deposit?

    Yes, starting 2020, we are now doing direct deposit. Please send a copy of a voided check and fill out the direct deposit form. Click here to view PDF form.

  • How to get your money?

    In order to have a check written or to have your money available, you must have a valid Virginia Racing Commission License AND a current year W-9 form on file with the bookkeepers office. Click here to fill out the form. As long as there are no holds on your account by any racing officials, the money will become available.

  • Can I have checks written to a third party?

    No, we will not be writing checks to third parties.

  • How do I claim a horse?

    You must have a W-9 on file with the Horsemen’s Bookkeeper and available funds (the price of the horse plus 5.3% sales tax).
