COLONIAL DOWNS AND ODU TEAM UP FOR OLD DOMINION DERBY DAY

~ Old Dominion Derby Day on Monday, September 7 to feature Old Dominion University Band, Dance and Cheer Squads ~

NEW KENT, Va. (August 31, 2026)—To celebrate the 2026 Old Dominion Derby and the conclusion of the 2026 live racing season, Colonial Downs Racetrack has teamed up with Old Dominion University to celebrate a beloved Virginia university and an iconic Virginia race on Old Dominion Derby Day! The special celebration on Monday, September 7 will mark the season’s last day of live racing and celebrate all things Old Dominion (University and Derby!) with special appearances by the ODU Band and the university’s dance and cheer squads.

Only five days of live racing remain in the historic 2026 season at Colonial Downs with tremendous racecards scheduled for this Thursday, September 3 through Old Dominion Derby Day on Monday, September 7.
