Colonial Downs Moves Thursday Card to 9 a.m. Start

NEW KENT, VA. (Sept. 1, 2026) – Colonial Downs will move up its Thursday, September 3 live racing card to a 9 a.m. ET first post due to forecasted heat for the New Kent, Va. area.
The 11-race card will begin with three jump races followed by eight races on the flat with the first flat race slated for approximately 10:25 a.m. The last race will be run at approximately 1:30 p.m. There is an Old Dominion 6 carryover of $4,617 heading into the card. The 50c minimum traditional Pick 6 wager begins on Race 6.
Friday’s card is scheduled for its regular 12:30 p.m. first post as are programs slated for Saturday and Sunday. The summer meet closes Monday with an 11-race card headed by the Grade 3 $500,000 Old Dominion Derby. Post time Monday is 12 p.m.
