COLONIAL DOWNS READYING TRACK FOR HISTORIC VIRGINIA DERBY IN TWELVE DAYS

NEW KENT, Va. (March 3, 2025)—Colonial Downs Racetrack, Virginia’s premier thoroughbred racetrack in New Kent, Va., is busily preparing the track for the historic Virginia Derby to be held on March 15, 2025. This will be Virginia’s first-ever Kentucky Derby qualifier race on The Road to the Kentucky Derby with the winning horse securing a spot in the field for the 151st Kentucky Derby at historic Churchill Downs.
Crews are hard at work preparing the racing surface and building special seating accommodations and fan experiences for this historic day of racing. General Admission tickets are selling fast but still available at the fan-friendly price of just $5, while all special reserved tickets are now sold out.
