Colonial Downs to Host Virginia’s Largest Kentucky Derby Party This Saturday

NEW KENT, Va. (May 1, 2024)—This Saturday, May 4, Colonial Downs will host Virginia’s largest Kentucky Derby party as race fans celebrate the 150th edition of the iconic “Run For the Roses.” Guests can enjoy “the fastest two minutes in sports” for free from the Woodford Reserve Whiskey Bar overlooking Colonial Downs’ Secretariat Turf Course. Tickets for a table in the Jockey Club are sold out.
This year’s festivities will again include great entertainment, festivities, and contests including awards for Best Hat and Best Dressed. Strolling entertainment will be provided by the River City Riffers—a band of jazz students from the VCU School of Music—and Colonial Downs’ partners at Dreamcatchers Equine Therapy will be bringing two retired thoroughbreds—Lark and Tater—to visit guests.
Woodford Reserve Whiskey Bar

Guests can enjoy general admission to the Woodford Reserve Whiskey Bar overlooking the Secretariat Turf Course, North America’s widest turf racing surface. All races throughout the day, including the Kentucky Derby, will be simulcast and guests can place their wagers on-site.
Jockey Club – SOLD OUT

Guests can also watch and wager on the fastest two minutes in sports live from the Jockey Club at Colonial Downs. Tables are available for $30 which includes access to the exclusive Jockey Club buffet and an official commemorative Kentucky Derby program.
Wagering on Saturday’s Kentucky Derby and Friday’s Kentucky Oaks is now available. Wagering on the entire slate of Saturday races will begin on Friday.
In addition to the festivities at Colonial Downs, each Rosie’s Gaming Emporium will broadcast and offer live betting on the Kentucky Derby and Saturday’s full slate of races. Admission to Rosie’s Gaming Emporiums is free and open to those 21 and older.
